Closing the Gaps: 21st Annual Recruitment and Retention Conference, sponsored by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. The topic was how universities could build a greater sense of civic engagement by establishing programs with community partners. Austin, Texas, June 22, 2005.
The National Society for Experiential Education held its annual meeting in Miami, Florida. It was a joint international conference with the International Consortium for Experiential Learning, the second time NSEE has partnered with ICEL. Attendees were educators and site sponsors involved in internships, service-learning, cooperative education, study abroad, and other forms of active learning. Attendance was over 500, with roundtables, panels, poster sessions, and workshops for the participants. Miami, Florida, September 29 - October 1, 2004.
