Service Learning Presentations
Based on my previous experience as Director of Service Learning at St. Mary's University, Migdalia Garcia asked me to join her for a joint presentation to the faculty of Northeast Lakeview College at the start of the academic year. We had a small turnout, but a great conversation! This was part of the Service Learning Workshop held at Northeast Lakeview College, August 23, 2012.

The topic was how to engage faculty and students in the community through community-based teaching and learning in order to enhance student learning and promote civic engagement. On a panel titled “A Model of Community Efforts,” at the Closing the Gaps: 21st Annual Recruitment and Retention Conference, sponsored by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. The topic was how universities could build a greater sense of civic engagement by establishing programs with community partners. Austin, Texas, June 22, 2005. Co-Presenter. On a panel titled “Service Learning and Study Abroad” at the Conference on International Education Exchange.
