Special Series: Lay Marianist Formation Symposium,
1998 - 2000

Picture
In the summer of 1998, I taught an intensive course  on the history of the Society of Mary (TH5258). The class was part of the Lay Marianist Formation Symposium titled "Embracing Our History." The second of the twinned courses, which was on Marianist Spirituality, was taught by Fr. John Moder, S.M. I was honored to participate in that immersion experience of the history and heritage of the Marianist charism.

Thus, I was happy to repeat  the experience, and co-teach two courses during the summer of 1999 with Fr. Bill  Meyer, S.M., as part of the Second Lay Marianist Formation Symposium, titled  "The Journey of Community."  The Symposium was held at the residence of the  Daughters of Mary Immaculate (the Marianist Sisters) in San Antonio, Texas  between July 15-18, 1999.

Special Course: The Marianist International Institute of Language, 2000

Picture
The summer of 2000, I co-taught a course on the Characteristics of Marianist Education with my wife, Mary Lynne, for the special three-week program called
the Marianist International Institute of Language (MIIL).

The institute was designed for teachers at Marianist schools from around the world, and we had 23 students from several different countries.

The students are pictured in this section's photograph - as you can see it was a  lively mix of participants!
